Woolwich Township, N.J. - Ashly Robinson, a South Jersey influencer known digitally as Ashlee Jenae, was found dead on April 9, 2026, while on vacation with her fiancé in Zanzibar, Tanzania.


Ashly Robinson and her fiancé, Joe McCann, were celebrating her 31st birthday on April 5th in Zanzibar, just two days after her McCann proposed to her. Then, just four days after her birthday, she was found dead in her hotel room. Now, users on social media and Robinson’s family are searching for answers.

According to local authorities, Robinson’s death was ruled a suicide after she attempted to hang herself from a door in her hotel room on April 9th. Robinson was taken to the hospital, and later died due to her injuries. Police in Tanzania revealed an incident before Robinson’s death forced hotel staff to separate the couple into separate rooms.


Despite social media chatter, Joe McCann has only been questioned as a witness at this time and is not being treated as a suspect in the investigation.
