Toms River, N.J. - The suspect who shot a 17-year-old in the face at the Ocean County Mall on Wednesday has been apprehended by authorities.


In a joint investigation, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Major Crime Unit, Toms River Police Department, and Ocean County Sherriff’s Office, they were able to identify the suspect and apprehend him. The suspect is currently being held at the Ocean County Juvenile Detention Center.

The suspect has been charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon. Due to New Jersey laws prohibiting details about juveniles involved in criminal cases, authorities will not release details about the suspect.
