The Gloucester County Office of Emergency Management has closed parks in the area, and has advised the public to not engage with any birds. Dead geese have been confirmed at Betty Park and Alcyon Park, with possible exposure to other birds in the region.


Local officials are currently awaiting laboratory results to confirm a potential outbreak. In the meantime, residents are strongly advised to avoid contact with deceased birds and to use protective measures if exposure cannot be avoided.
