Hammonton, N.J. - On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, Sergeant Robert Zbikowski, 47, of Hammonton, was indicted on charges of second-degree official misconduct, second-degree pattern of official misconduct, third-degree theft, fourth-degree tampering with physical evidence, and fourth-degree obstruction.


The investigation stems from February 2024, when the Hammonton Police Department reported that Sgt. Zbikowski failed a routine drug test. Following the investigation, authorities discovered that Zbikowski allegedly used his role as evidence custodian to tamper with narcotics from October 2023 to February 2024. During an audit, it was discovered that multiple bags of methamphetamine and oxycodone were tampered with or missing.
