Ocean City, N.J. - The Ocean City Police Department, Ocean City Fire Rescue, U.S. Coast Guard, and New Jersey State Police are continuing to search for a missing swimmer first reported shortly before 5 p.m. on Monday.


First responders rushed to the scene near the 11th St. beach in Ocean City, when they requested mutual aid from the U.S. Coast Guard and New Jersey State Police. According to officials, one person was rescued alive and speaking to authorities, while the other is still missing.

The U.S. Coast Guard deployed a helicopter and swimmer for several hours Monday evening to assist with the search. At one point, first responders were seen forming a human chain in the water to assist in the search.
